Siddharth Saran ("Sidd") is CEO of Orca Advisory where he works with promising technology, business services and industrial companies on matters related to strategy, corporate finance, sales and marketing, personnel and operations. Previously, Sidd was President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Salem Steel, a distributor of precision steel tubes to the automotive, agriculture, commercial trucking, mining and energy sectors. He grew sales and increased profitability leveraging technology and analytics, despite a turbulent demand and pricing environment.
Sidd started his career in technology investment banking at Credit Suisse where he focused on raising capital for growth companies and mergers and acquisitions. He continued in investment banking at UBS where he was an Executive Director and head of technology and business services sector leveraged buyouts in the financial sponsors and leveraged finance group. Subsequently, Sidd co-founded a technology incubator and established Orca Advisory.
Sidd has a BA from Middlebury College with phi beta kappa, magna cum laude and honors in physics, a Bachelor of Engineering from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Sidd enjoys triathlons and marathons, teaching science, engineering and robotics to elementary and middle school children, and volunteering with his local EMS squad.
